A growing network of organizations and individuals have launched a new campaign to pursue the immediate impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney through widespread public protest, creative dissent, media activism, education, and coordinated lobbying. We believe that Bush and Cheney have committed high crimes and misdemeanors, including misleading the nation into an aggressive war, spying in open violation of the law, and sanctioning the use of torture.
Lying, spying, and torture are a betrayal of our fundamental values of truth, freedom, and justice. Far from being a partisan political quest, impeachment is a self-evident moral imperative and we demand that Congress hold Cheney and Bush accountable through the Constitutional remedy of impeachment. Members of Congress who refuse to do so will be considered complicit with these crimes.
A series of coordinated impeachment initiatives this spring will build towards April 28, which has been chosen as a day of nationwide protest in towns and cities across America to call for impeachment.
